"No One Sings Like You Anymore"

I did the portrait on the left back in January of 21 in colored pencil as a commission for my good friend Dante.

Dante loved it but I was never thrilled with it. And the more I would see the piece, the more that I felt that I had "under delivered" on this one.

And I wasn't cool with that.

In the spring of 2021 (about 5 months after I finished the original colored pencil piece) I started working entirely in Digital, and by the Fall I felt that my digital skills had become good enough to try this one again.

The piece on the right was the result.

So in December of 21, almost a year after I delivered the original piece, I sent Dante a print of the "Digital Remix". After he received it, he called me and told me that he loved it. And when I told him that I sent it because I absolutely hated the first one, he laughed at me like I was crazy and said, "You didn't have to do that".

But I did have to do it Dante.

I absolutely did.
